Summer Awards Banquet

At our summer Awards banquet, Charlie won the Coach’s Award. At Provincials, Charlie set team records in the 50, 100 and 200 free! The Chuck Grace Spirit Award (AKA the HERO Award) was shared by Virginia and Bryan. Virginia competed n her 20th consecutive Nationals in May after shattering her femur in February! She swam 6 events, including 1500 and 800 and placed on the podium. Bryan won the 50 breast, bronzed the 1500 and swam and medalled in multiple other events. Outdoor Season Begins!

Our outdoor season at the 50m Thames pool begins Monday, May 27th at 6 PM and continues twice weekly (Mondays and Thursdays) until June 27th. New swimmers are welcome. The cost is $60. New swimmers must register online for MSO (Masters Swimming Ontario) registration and insurance. The club will cover that $10 cost. Online registration is easy. You will need your OHIP health card. Payment made be made online with Paypal or on deck at your first swim (cash or cheque). Hope to see you and the sunshine! Register here

Even though pool rental and life guarding costs have increased, your Executive has decided to keep fees unchanged for the 3rd consecutive year. At our annual Awards party, this year held at Barakat, Joanna and her daughter, Julia, accept the Coach’s Award, which Joanna shared with Cathy Heighway.Alex won the team spirit Award.Christina and Steve won the bocce championship. 

Coach Vince heads to Yellowknife, NT. Jenna Roman coaches Dolphins at Thames.

Coach Vince headed to Yellowknife, NT on June 1st to spend the summer playing with rocks as he pursues his career in Geology.Jenna Roman will be coaching our brief outdoor season at Thames.In Jenna’s words:“I was a competitive swimmer for 11 years with the London Aquatic Club, competing at the national level multiple times.  After switching school paths this past year, I will be attending Fanshawe in the fall for Accounting.  I’m passionate about nutrition and fitness, and am excited to fill in as your coach for the rest of the season.”
